DkIT Department of Music & Creative Media will stage Evita from March 10th-12th starting at 7pm nightly in the New Black Box Theatre by special licence from The Really Useful Group Ltd.

Ceol Oirghialla has established a reputation for ensemble music-making and the department have a number of ensembles which enrich the musical life of both the department and the Institute. The ensembles perform at a range of events both within the Institute and externally. Students join at least two ensembles and receive credit for this as part of the performance stream on the BA (Hons) Applied Music. The ensembles rehearse weekly. Under the directorship of the critically acclaimed fiddler Gerry O Connor the Traditional ensemble gives the departments best traditional players the chance to showcase their talents through a series of different concerts throughout the year.
Established in September 2005 the DkIT Guitar Consort is comprised of students of the Dundalk Institute of Technology Music Department.
The DkIT Orchestra started in 2004 and is currently under the directorship of Caitriona McEniry. Since then it has grown from strength to strength and performs regularly through the academic calender.
The Music department choir is a large-scale 100-strong choir consisting of students and staff at Dundalk Institute of Technology.
The Music Theatre group stage a full production during the second semester in the new theatre, and offer opportunities for experience in a variety of theatrical areas. The choice of production for 2009 was The Gondoliers.
