Message from the President
Welcome!
I would like to welcome you to Dundalk Institute of Technology and to thank you for choosing this Institute to bring your education to the next stage. You are joining the Institute at an exciting time. Over the past 8-10 years, the campus facilities have been greatly improved and extended. In 2005, this process was further extended to include a new Nursing and Health Studies building and in 2006 a new on-campus student accommodation facility; a new Restaurant/Theatre building is scheduled for completion in March 2007. The sport and recreation facilities for students are being continuously expanded and it is expected that work on a new crèche will begin later in the year.
Although you will be joining a college with nearly 3,500 full-time students, Dundalk Institute of Technology continues to offer an intimate and caring environment. You will find that the academic and support staff in the Institute will take a personal interest in your welfare and are all committed to supporting you through your time with us here.
If you encounter any difficulty, either academic or non-academic, while with us here in Dundalk, please be sure to share it with a fellow student or with a member of the Institute staff. It is imperative that you draw our attention to any such difficulty. If you do so, you can be assured that the Institute will do everything in its power to assist you.
I wish you every success in your studies here. I hope you find them both engaging and stimulating and that when you leave here, you will do so with fond memories of your time with us.
Denis Cummins,
Institute President
